Besides that there are some specific rules that players must be aware off which are listed below; (failure to follow any of the below rules can result in a warning and/or jailtime)

Scamming

Loss of items due to hacking/scamming Lost items will not be returned unless a game bug or glitch caused the loss. (Do NOT beg staff to return scammed goods, violation of this may result in a 5 day mail ban.)
As it has been stated before if it sounds too good to be true....Then it is.
Torncity has Trades, the items market and the auction house which you can use for 100% safe trades. Trading outside these systems is only recommended if you trust the seller/buyer 100%, if not use the safe solutions.
So loud and clear, every deal you make in Torncity mails, IRC, or whatever other way is primary at your own risk and you might not receive any money or items back if you make insane, too good to be true deals.
Banking And Personal Loans
Banking
Every player has the ability to bank an unlimited amount of cash in their banks, all banking outside your own bank (letting others bank for you) is at 100% own risk. If the player does not pay back the money after the set time you can player report the player for scamming, tho you WILL NOT receive any money back. Also; money banked with other people will NOT be refunded in the case that that player goes to fed jail for whatever reason.
Personal loans
If you decide to provide someone a loan, possibly because they offer a big interest rate at payback day, you do this on your own risk. Sending someone 50Mill, and expecting 60Mill back after a month is a very attractive deal, and if you want that you can take the risk on your own. If the person fails to pay you back you will NOT be creditted the money back.
Hence the Phrase; if it sounds too good to be true....Then it is!
To prevent confusion and make it more clear, also if you just loan someone cash without getting a profit, same story, own risk. ALL loans are at own risk.
The failure to pay back a loan is considered scamming. The offender will be jailed for scamming and money will be removed, however will not be returned to the person who loaned it.
Forum Rules
The forums are being used in a very intensive way and need some regulations to keep it all nice for everyone. The most important forum rules are:
By using this feature you are agreeing to the following terms:
I will not,
- Use heavy obscene language in my posts while using the forum.
- Flame or harass another player while using the forum.
- Impersonate someone else to scam other players while using the forum.
- Attempt to gain access to another account or steal their objects while using the forum.
- Post pictures of other players without their permission.
- Beg for money or items from other players while using the forum.
- Discriminate or be racist/sexist/etc to other players while using the forum.
- Spam or flood while using the forum.
If you are caught going against these terms, you will be dealt with appropriately by a staff member.
Specific to the language that can be used:
All TC forums are English only.
Swearing:
Only the use of damn, hell and ass will be tolerated if you really think you need to swear.
ANY other form of cursing will result in a warning and/or ban of the poster, and edit of the post in question. (This includes posting any word in another language, hoping for it to be missed by staff.)
Off topic:
Going off topic in a post is considered spamming. If you cant keep to the topic of the original post, start a new one. Theres no point in having a 4 page post if 2 of them are people discussing a different topic entirely. This includes posting 'first post', nothing but smileys, or anything that has nothing to do with the topic of the first post.
1st Post etc
If you feel a need for remarks like that, you will receive a warning and more offenses will result in forum bans. (and if Ched is around you are unlucky and get 3 days at once)
Posting stats/personal mails
You are NOT allowed to reveal another players stats in any form in the forums or post them in any of your signatures.
Posting of email conversations is forbidden unless the name of the other person is edited out.
Posting of IRC conversations is allowed, when the other party complains about it the post must be edited.
Multiple Accounts
People multiple account will have their main account in federal jail for 7 days and the multi account deleted.
WARNING: If you have siblings there is a strong chance you will be fedded.
Signatues
Forum Signatures
Forum signatures can be text, image or animated .gif files, flash is only allowed if it has NO music in it, so image flash files are fine. The size of the forum signature is limited to 150x500 (HxW) OR 10 lines of text. There is no music allowed in forum signatures (and faction descriptions).
Profile Signatures
In profile signatures the use of music is allowed when there is a start/stop button. The size of profile signatures is free to fill in yourself, but will be editted as soon as the pages will be stretched up by the use of enormous images etc.
The use of magnetboards/chatboxes in your profile sig is NOT allowed. We can not edit/modify the content and therefore this can be abused easily.
In your signatures you are NOT ALLOWED to have links to TC-pages that perform an action, eg; attacking, stepping on a plane or buying another house, a link to mail you, is allowed.
Factions
Do not use Flash files and/or music in faction descriptions. At no time are you allowed to you use flash files and/or music in your factions description! (when found doing this, both Leader and Co-leader will be issued a warning)
Factions must have a name at all time.
IRC
The rules in IRC are pretty much the same as game rules, hence the posting stats, and swearing etc, other rules are stated on the login page.
And the few channels made by staff state extra rules in their topics....

Things not to ask about in any chat area:
- Why you are in federal jail
- Why you have been banned from the #lobby or other rooms
- If you want to appeal a decision
Please use the proper reports.
Things not to ask about in #lobby:
- Playing Roulette
- Looking for a wife / husband
- Looking for a bust
- Buying or selling items
Please use the forums for marriage or go to the following channels. #bust, #fights, #tradingpost, or #roulette.
Do not use #help to ask about bug reports or player reports you have made. Do not come to #help to tell us the game is lagged. There are 200,000 other players so when it happens, we already know.
