Merits

Merits are points that you can use to upgrade your character by either increasing attributes, abilities, or by buying items. The primary way to gain them is by achieving one of the Awards.
Torn City has broken them down into the 3 classes listed below.
The cost and benefit of the item can vary by level and/or the number of merits you have used before. To find out more about each of the upgrades, just click on it's name and you will see a more detailed description of what you get from the upgrade.
Incremental Upgrades

In the list of Incremental Upgrades, you will note the Upgraded value is 0 of 10 possible. Initially all characters start at 0 bonus added via Merits with a maximum of 10 Merits that they can use to add to these statistics. If you pay one merit to upgrade an incremental stat, next time you want to upgrade it you will need to pay two merits, after that three, and so on.

Same price, no matter how many you try and buy.
- Many players advise 'hoarding' your merits. For example, at level 2, you would only get
20 dex boost. At level 15, you would get 150. The longer you have Merits, (and play the game on a regular basis) they will be better spent.
